Lower Limit Value = x - (l x s) Upper Limit Value = x - (- l x s) Where, x = Control Mean s = Control Standard Deviation l = Control Limit you Wish to Evaluate

Example:

A process has a control mean of 10, a standard deviation of 20 and the control limit that the company wishes to find is 2. Find the upper and lower limit?

Solution:

Lower Limit:
w = 10 – (2 x 20)
= -30
Upper Limit:
u = 10 - (- 2 x 20)
= 50
