How to Calculate Spherical Sector Volume and Area - Formula

Definition:

A spherical sector is a solid portion of the sphere cut off by the plane. It is enclosed by the two radii from the center of the sphere.

Formula :

Spherical Sector
Where,

Example:

If height is 4 meter and radius is 6 meter , then find the Volume and Area.

Given,

Height= 4 meter
Radius= 6 meter

To Find,

Volume and Area

Solution:

Substitute the given values in the formula to find the volume,

Volume =(2/3)3.14*6*6*4
=(2/3)452.16
=301.44 meter 3

Substitute the given values in the formula to find the area,

Circumference =2*(sqrt(4*(2*6-4)))=11.313708
Area =3.14*6*(2*4+(11.313708499/2))
=257.295134061 acre
