S =√(Rg2 + Rh2 ) Where, S = Slant Range (Line of Sight Distance between two objects) Rg2 = Range Ground Rh2 = Range Height

Example

An air plane flies at a height of 1500 feet from the ground. Find the line of sight between the airplane and a tower which is placed 700 ft away from the point direct to the aircraft in ground.

     = √(7002 + 15002)
     = 1655.2945 ft.
Therefore, distance between two object is 1655.2945 ft
