PE = m x g x h

Mass:

m = PE / (g x h)

Acceleration of Gravity:

g = PE / (m x h)

Height:

h = PE / (m x g) Where, m = Mass, g = Acceleration of Gravity h = Height Gravitational Acceleration of the earth is 9.8 m/sec2.

Example:

Calculate Gravitational Potential energy of an object having mass = 85kg, Height = 20m.

Solution:

PE = m x g x h
= 285 × 9.8 × 20
= 16,660J
