Formula:

Differential Pressure = (1.59923 x P x d4 x ρ) / W2 Where, P = Change in Pressure d = Pipe Diameter ρ = Fluid Density W = Mass Flow Rate

Example:

Calculate the flow rate pressure difference having fluid density as 5 kg/m3, diameter of pipe as 7 mm, flow rate of mass as 12 kg/hr and pressure change as 15 bars.

Solution:

Differential Pressure = (1.59923 x P x d4 x ρ) / W2
= (1.59923 x 15 x 74 x 5) / 122
= 1999.8704
