Doppler Effect Blue Shift Velocity Calculator

An observer moving relative to the source of the wave observes a variation in the frequency or wavelength of a wave is called as Doppler effect. As the wavelength decreases in corresponding to the increase in frequency is called as the blue shift of Doppler effect. Here is the online Doppler effect blue shift velocity calculator which calculates the velocity of blue shift based on the input values of the speed of light, emitted wavelength, and blue shift wavelength.

Formula:

V = C × ((E / b)-1) Where, V = Blue-Shift Velocity C = Speed of Light from Source E = Emitted Wavelength B = Blue-Shift Wavelength

Example:

Calculate the blue shift velocity having 25 m/s of speed of light , 20 cm of emitted wavelength and 15 cm of blue shift wavelength.

Solution:

Doppler effect blue shift velocity = 25 × ( (20 / 15) -1 )
= 8.3333 m/s
