Doppler Effect Blue Shift Frequency Calculator

The change in the observed frequency in comparison with that emitted from the source is called Doppler effect for light. If the source light travels towards the observer means then it is called blue shift frequency. Doppler effect blue shift frequency calculator calculates the blue shift frequency by entered values of emitted frequency, velocity towards observer and speed of light. This online calculator will serve as a promising tool for students.

Formula:

Observed Blue-Shift Frequency = F × (1+(V/C)) Where, F = Emitted Frequency V = Velocity Towards You C = Speed of Light from Source

Example:

Calculate the observed blue shift frequency for emitted frequency as 12Hz, velocity as 20 m/s and speed of light as 36 m/s.

Solution:

Doppler Effect Blue Shift Frequency = 12 × (1 + (20/36) )
= 18.6667 Hz.
