For Company
Wasted time yearly = ( No of spams x Time to read a spam x No of working days / 3000) x No of employees
Daily lost salary = ( No of spams x Time to read a spam x Average salary) x No of employees
Monthly lost salary = Daily lost salary x (No of working days / 12)

Given,
Working days = 235 per year,
Number of Employees = 30,
Average Annual salary = 30000,
Average emails per day = 10 per person,
Percentage of spam = 5%,
Time spent on each spam = 5 seconds
To find,
Average Salary
No of Spams
Wasted time yearly
Daily lost salary
Monthly lost salary
Step 1:
Average salary | = Average annual salary / (No of working days x 8 x 3600) |
| = 30000 / (235 x 8 x 3600) |
| = 0.00443 |
Step 2:
No of Spams | = No of emails x Spam Percentage / 100 |
| = 10 x 5 / 100 |
| = 0.5 |
For Company:
Step 1:
Wasted time yearly | = (No of spams x Time to read a spam x No of working days / 3000) x No of employees |
| = (0.5 x 5 x 235 / 3000) x 30 |
| = 5.88 |
Step 2:
Daily lost salary | = (No of spams x Time to read a spam x Average salary) x No of employees |
| = (0.5 x 5 x 0.00443) x 30 |
| = 0.33 |
Step 3:
Monthly lost salary | = Daily lost salary x (No of working days / 12) |
| = 0.33 x (235 / 12) |
| = 6.51 |
For Employee:
Step 1:
Wasted time yearly | = (No of spams x Time to read a spam x No of working days / 3000) |
| = (0.5 x 5 x 235 / 3000) |
| = 0.2 |
Step 2:
Daily lost salary | = (No of spams x Time to read a spam x Average salary) |
| = (0.5 x 5 x 0.00443) |
| = 0.01107 |
Step 3:
Monthly lost salary | = Daily lost salary x (No of working days / 12) |
| = 0.01107 x (235 / 12) |
| = 0.22 |
