Ultrafiltration Rate Calculator

The term Ultra Filtration refers the pulling water out of blood at dialysis. During Dialysis, blood and dialysate move in the opposite direction of a semi-permeable membrane resulting in the removal of diffusive solute. Use this Ultrafiltration Rate Calculator to calculate the UFR rate in dialysis. Enter the values of take off liquid for treatment, treatment time, patient weight and click calculate to know the ultrafiltration rate. It is one of the most important predictor of mortality.

Formula:

Ultrafiltration Rate = ( v / t ) / w Where, v = Take off Liquid for Treatment t = Treatment Time w = Patient Weight

Example:

Find UFR for the given values Take off Liquid for Treatment = 21 ml Treatment Time = 4 hours Patient Weight = 54 kilogram

Solution:

UFR = (21 / 4) / 54
= 0.0972 ml/h/kg
