Pulmonic Blood Flow = r × π × (v/2)^{2}
Systemic Blood Flow = l × π × (t/2)^{2}
Pulmonary-Systemic Flow Ratio = Pulmonic Blood Flow / Systemic Blood Flow

r = RVOT Subvalvular Velocity Time Integral
v = Right Ventricular Outflow Tract Diameter
l = LVOT Subvalvular Velocity Time Integral
t = Left Ventricular Outflow Tract Diameter
### Example:

A patient has RVOT Subvalvular Velocity Time Integral as 7 cm, Right Ventricular Outflow Tract Diameter as 5 cm, LVOT Subvalvular Velocity Time Integral as 8 cm and Left Ventricular Outflow Tract Diameter as 9 cm. Find his QP/QS ratio?

#### Solution:

Pulmonary-Systemic Flow = 7 × π × (5 / 2)^{2}

= 137.4447 ml/beat

Systemic Blood Flow = 8 × π × (9 / 2)^{2}

= 508.938 ml/beat

Pulmonary-Systemic Flow Ratio = 137.4447 / 508.938

= 0.2701
