Formula:

Infant Mortality Rate = (i / l)×1000 Where, i = Number of Resident Infant Deaths l = Number of Resident Live Births

Example:

Calculate the percentage of child death rate for a number of infant deaths and births as 25 & 50.

Solution:

Infant Death Rate Per 1000 Live Births = ( 25 / 50)× 1000
= 500
