FW Deficit (Adult Male) = 0.6 x Weight x ( Current Sodium(Na) / Desired Sodium - 1 ) FW Deficit (Adult Female) = 0.5 x Weight x ( Current Sodium(Na) / Desired Sodium - 1 ) FW Deficit (Elderly Male) = 0.5 x Weight x ( Current Sodium(Na) / Desired Sodium - 1 ) FW Deficit (Elderly Female) = 0.45 x Weight x ( Current Sodium(Na) / Desired Sodium - 1 ) FW Deficit (Child) = 0.6 x Weight x ( Current Sodium(Na) / Desired Sodium - 1 )

Free water deficit = 0.6 x 15 x (230 / 140 -1)
= 2.1429 l
