Creatinine Clearance Calculator

Creatinine is a waste product released during the energy production of the muscles. This waste product is removed from the body by the kidneys and come-out along with urine, known as the creatinine clearance (CrCl). It is a diagnostic urine test for kidney function. Higher levels of creatinine in body causes severe damage to the kidneys. Hence the CrCl rate should be in normal level for the proper functioning of kidneys. In this creratinine clearance calculator, calculate the CrCl per minute by entering the weight, age and serum creatinine.

Formula:

Estimated Creatinine Clearance = [ [ 140 - age] x weight x GF ] / [ 72 x serum Cr] Where, GF = Gender Correction Factor, If male, GF = 1, If female, GF = 0.85

Example

Estimated CrCl

Consider your age to be 30, serum creatinine level 2.0 and weight 60. Your estimated creatinine clearance would be 45.83 in kg and 20.79 in lb which is of normal range.

Normal level of creatinine in the blood is approximately 97 to 137 ml/min in adult females and 88-128 mL/min in adult males.
