Formula:

Gross Box Volume = ( (H-(T*2)) × (W-(T*2) × (D-( T*2) ) / 1728 Net Box Volume =Gross Box Volume - Speaker Displacement Where, H=Height T=Wood Thickness W=Width D=Depth

Example:

Find gross box volume and net box volume of rectangular speaker enclosure. Its have 100 inch height, 50 inch width, 70 inch depth, 20 inch wood thickness and 9 ft3 Speaker displacement.

Solution:

Gross Box Volume = ( (100-(20*2)) × (50-(20*2)) × (70-(20*2))) / 1728
=((100-40)*(50-40)*(70-40))/1728
=(60*10*30)/1728
=10.4167 ft3
Net Box Volume =10.4167 - 9
=1.4167 ft3

In the rectangular speaker enclosure volume calculator, the net box volume and the gross box volume values depend on the height, width, depth and thickness of the speaker.
