Cooling Water Flow Rate Calculation Through Condenser

Here is a simple online Cooling Water Flow Rate Calculator Through Condenser which helps you to calculate the volume of water that gets heated per hour for the given heating wattage and used temperature. The volume of coolant water can be measured in litres per hour and the water cooling rate can be measured as energy rate in watts. Cooling Water Flow Rate Calculation would be helpful in designing water heaters. Enter values of heating wattage and temperature and find the flow rate.

Formula:

M = P / (Cp x dT) Where, M = Volume Of Cool Water Cp = Specific heat capacity of water (4200 J/kg/K) P = Energy rate of removal measured in kilowatt dT = The temperature rise in the water

Example:

A water is heated at an energy rate of 250 watt and the temperature of water rises to 12° celsius. What is the cooling water flow rate through condenser?

Solution

M = P / (Cp x dT)
Volume of coolant water (M) = 250 / (4200 x 12)
= 250 / 50400
= 0.004960317 L/sec

Flow rate on a water cooled condenser can be determined by water cooled chiller which has a trip on high head due to higher condenser water inlet temperature.
