What is critical velocity - Definition and Meaning

Critical Velocity :

Critical Velocity refers to the "speed that a falling object reaches when the gravity and air resistance acts equalize on the object." In physics, critical velocity refers to the maximum velocity of the liquid upto which the flow remains streamlined, if the fluid crosses the maximum velocity then the flow becomes turbulent.

Formula :

Critical velocity (VC) = Re η / ρ r where Re - Reynolds number η - Coefficient of viscosity ρ - Density of fluid r - Radius of tube.
