What is closure property - Definition and Meaning

Closure Property :

Closure property states that, any two elements in a set combines to produce a resultant element in the same set.


Example :

Consider a set of Integer (1,2,3,4 ....) under Addition operation Ex : 1+2=3, 2+10=12 , 12+25=37,.. Addition of any two integer number gives the integer value and hence a set of integers is said to have closure property under Addition operation. Consider the same set of Integers under Division now. Ex: 7/2=3.5 which is not an integer ,hence it is said to be Integer doesn't have closure property under division Operation.
