What is bac - Definition and Meaning


Blood alcohol concentration (BAC) is used to find the amount of alcohol intoxicated in a person's blood and it is measured as weight per unit of volume. It can be derived as percentage of ethanol in the blood in units of mass of alcohol per volume of blood.

EBAC = 0.806 x SD x 1.2 / BW x Wt - (MR x Dp) 0.806 - constant for water in the blood SD - No of standard drinks with 10g of ethanol BW - Body water constant Wt - Body weight MR - Metabolism Constant Dp - Drinking Period
