Triglycerides Calculator

Chemically, triglyceride is an ester derived from glycerol and three fatty acids. Medically, they are fat in the blood. They are a form of fat called lipids which energizes your body. Extra fats are stored in different parts of the body to use it later when needed. A high level of triglyceride indicates a high chance of heart disease. The below medical calculator helps you to calculate the level of triglyceride for the given cholesterol and lipoprotein levels.

Triglycerides
Total Cholesterol
Low-Density Lipoprotein (LDL)

Formula:

Triglyceride=5 x (Total Cholesterol - HDL - LDL) Where, HDL = High-Density Lipoprotein LDL = Low-Density Lipoprotein

Example

Find the triglycerids lipids of a person who has a total cholesterol level of 19 mg/dl, hdl of 5 mg/dl and ldl of 9 mg/dl. Triglyceride = 5 x (19 - 5 - 9) = 5 x 5 = 25 mg/dl
