Cockroft Gault Equation Calculator

The Creatinine clearance rate (CCr or CrCl) is the volume of blood plasma that is cleared of creatinine per unit time and is used for measuring GFR (Glomerular Filtration Rate - the flow rate of filtered fluid through the kidney). The CCr is calculated using the Cockcroft Gault equation. This is a simple online calculator to estimate the Creatinine clearance rate using the known values of age, gender, weight and serum creatinine values.

Formula:

Creatinine Clearance Value ( Male ) = ( ( 140 - age ) ( weight kg ) / ( 72 X Scr ) ) Creatinine Clearance Value ( Female )= 0.85 * ( ( 140 - age ) ( weight kg ) / ( 72 X Scr ) ) Where, Scr = Serum creatinine

Example

A 30 year man weighing 50 kgs, having a serum creatinine of 10 mg / dl what is Creatinine Clearance Value?

Creatinine Clearance Value = (140 - 30 ) * 50 / 72 * 10
= 110 * 5 / 72
= 7.64 ml / min
