Volume of a Conductor Formula

Volume is the quantity of three-dimensional space enclosed by a closed surface and it is measured in cubic units. Given here is the formula to calculate the volume of a conductor (wire or cable) in a transformer line. The volume of a conductor formula uses the parameters area and length of the conductor to determine the volume. Just multiply area with the length to get the result. The minimum length of a single wire in an electrical box is usually six inches.

Formula:

Volume of Conductor = Area × Length

The wire is a cylinder, so the volume of a strand of wire can also be calculated using the volume equation for a right cylinder and the volume of a conductor formula.
