Velocity Formula

Velocity is termed as the measurement of an object moving in a specific direction. In other words, it is the rate of change in the position of an object. It is similar to speed where speed calculates only the number how fast an object moves but velocity calculates its direction too. From the below velocity formula, you can calculate the velocity by dividing displacement and time, which is expressed in m/s since displacement is expressed in meters and time taken in seconds.

Formula for Velocity

Formula:

Velocity, V = (S) / (t)

Where,
S = Displacement
t = Time taken.

For example, consider an object travels 1000 m at 20 seconds. Using the velocity formula, we can calculate V as 1000 / 20, which is equal to 50 m/s.
