There are two kinds of Mean Effective Pressure, IMEP (indicated mean effective pressure) and BMEP (brake mean effective pressure). IMEP is developed in the cylinder and can be measured and BMEP is computed from the brake horsepower (bhp) delivered by the engine. By mean effective pressure formula, calculate the products of 2π, the number of revolutions per power stroke, torque and divide it by displacement volume to determine the mean effective pressure for measuring engine performance.
