Ejection fraction (EF) is the measure of the blood that is leaving from the heart with each heartbeat. For each heartbeat cycle, the heart contracts and relaxes. When your heart relaxes, the ventricles are refilled with blood. To find the Ejection Fraction (EF), divide the amount of blood pumped out of the ventricle by total amount of blood in ventricle.
The ejection fraction formula uses the blood amount in ventricles. Ventricles are the two main chambers of the heart.
