Dielectric Constant Formula

Dielectric constant is also known as Relative permittivity of a dielectric material. It is the ratio of the permittivity of a substance to the permittivity of free space. Materials with high dielectric constants are useful in the manufacture of high-value capacitors. Effective dielectric constant depends upon the Characteristic impedance and relative dielectric constant.

Formula:

εr = ε / ε0
Where,
εr = Dielectric Constant
ε0 = Electrical Permittivity
ε = Permittivity
