Buffer Capacity Formula

Buffer capacity is a measure of the efficiency of a buffer in resisting changes in pH. It is the ratio of the gram equivalent to the pH change caused by the addition of strong acid/base. It increases as the molarity of the buffer salt/acid solution increases.

Formula:

β = ΔB / ΔpH

Where,
β = Buffer Capacity
ΔB = Gram Equivalent
ΔpH= pH Change caused by the Addition of Strong Acid/Base
