Amplitude Formula

The amplitude of a wave is the maximum amount of displacement of a particle in the position of rest. The amplitude measures the height of the wave from the mid-line, which can be calculated using amplitude formula. The total number of waves passing through a particular time is called as frequency. A wave can transmit more energy if it has higher frequency. The amplitude of a wave equation is the ratio of the distance travelled by the wave and the frequency of the wave.

Amplitude of a Wave Equation

Formula:

A = D / F

Where,

A = Amplitude of Wave
D = Distance Traveled by the Wave
F = Frequency of the Wave
