Pay Commission (CPC) is the commission set up by the Indian Government for the recommendations of the changes in salary pay scale of the central government employees. As for now, seven CPC's have been announced by the Indian Government. The pay scale structure and grade pay for all civil and military employees has been devised based on the pay bands. Each of the pay commission has been beneficial than the previous recommended pay scales.
First Indian pay commission salary pay scale has been announced on January, 1946. Second CPC was established on August 1957 and third was set up on April 1970. Fourth CPC came into existence on June 1983 and fifth salary pay scale recommendations was constituted on May 1994. The sixth pay commission has been started on July 2006 and the seventh pay commission will come into existence from 2016.
