Formula:

X = (B + D) - W Y = A - X Where, X = Adjusted Ending Statement Balance A = Balance from Your Check Register B = Ending Balance Shown on Your Statement W = Total Withdrawals D = Total Deposits Y = Statement

Example:

Do the account reconciliation for a bank account in which its balance in the check register be Rs. 20000, ending balance shown on the statement of Rs. 12000, total deposits of 25000, and total withdrawals of Rs.5000.

Solution:

X = (12000 + 25000) - 5000
= Rs. 32000
Y = 20000 - 32000
= Rs. 12000
Your adjusted statement balance is Rs.12000 more than your check register balance.
