Bolt Pattern Calculator

The diameter of the imaginary circles formed by the center of wheel lugs is called as the bolt circle or pattern. This online calculator is used to find the positions of the bolt circle pattern based on the number of holes, angle of 1st hole, diameter of 1st hole, offset, diameter of hole and bolt circle.

Formula:

Bolt Pattern Circle x coordinate = cos ( ( n - 1 ) * B + A ) * R + Xc y coordinate = sin ( ( n - 1 ) * B + A ) * R + Yc Where, A = First Hole Angle - from 0° B = Angle between holes ( 360 / Number of holes ) n = Hole number counter R = Radius of the bolt circle (or) diameter of the bolt circle/2 Xc = Hole X coordinate Yc = Hole Y coordinate

Example

If the number of holes is 3, each bolt is of diameter 3 and hole is of 5, the angle of first hole from 00 is 250 and the offset is (1,2), then

Angle of first hole = 250
Angle of second hole = 25+ 120 = 1450
Angle of third hole = 145+ 120 = 2650
B = 360 / 3 = 1200
X-coordinate of First Hole = cos ( ( ( 1 - 1 ) * 120 + 25 ) ) * 1.5 + 1 = 2.3595
X-coordinate of Second Hole =cos ( ( ( 2 - 1 ) * 120 + 25 ) ) * 1.5 + 1 = -0.2287
X-coordinate of Third Hole = cos ( ( ( 3 - 1 ) * 120 + 25 )) * 1.5 + 1 = 0.8693
Y Coordinate of First Hole = sin ( ( ( 1 - 1 ) * 120 + 25 ) ) * 1.5 + 2 = 2.6339
Y Coordinate of Second Hole = sin ( ( ( 2 - 1 ) * 120 + 25 )) * 1.5 + 2 = 2.8604
Y Coordinate of Third Hole = sin ( ( ( 1 - 1 ) * 120 + 25 ) ) * 1.5 + 2 = 0.5057
