T 1/2 Calculation

Half life period, represented as t 1/2 is the amount of time required for an object to fall half of its initial value. Half life time is commonly used in nuclear physics to describe the decay of discrete entities, such as radioactive atoms. It is also referred to as Half life time. Use the below given calculator to find the half life time of any substance given the required values.

Formula:

HL = (t * log2) / log(b / e) Where, HL = Half Life Period (t 1/2) t = Elapsed Time b = Beginning Amount e = Ending Amount

Example

Calculate the half life time (t 1/2), for zinc of 300 g initially and 100 g finally in radioactivity with an elapsed time of 50 days
HL = (50 x log2) / log (300 / 100)
HL = 31.5465 days
