Df = Vf / Vi Where, Df = Dilution Factor Vf = Final Volume Vi = Initial Volume

Dilution Factor

When you add 0.2 ml aliquot solution to 8.6 ml of solution, the dilution factor is calculated as
Final Volume = (0.2 + 8.6) = 8.8
DF = Final Volume / Initial Volume
= 8.8 / 0.2
= 44 .
