Determine the actual relationship between voltage and current for any given inductor,
with the basic differential expression V= L (di/dt); which describes the behavior of an inductance.
Where,
V - Voltage drop across inductor
L - Inductance in henry
di/dt - instantaneous rate of change of current with respect to time
Inductor voltage drop is the rate of change of inductor current.
Both voltage (v) and rate of current change (di/dt) are instantaneous. Calculation of DC voltages across inductance is made easier.
